Increase in patient portal messaging not reducing in-person office visits

Patient portal messaging is not replacing in-person care. It is adding to it.An evaluation of 2,000 hospitals and 40,000 clinics showed patient-authored messages have increased more than 150% since the start of 2020. Office visits increased 17% during the same time.
