Image: Ukrainan presidentin kansliaYle News12:11Finnish President Alexander Stubb met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington, DC on Tuesday after they attended the state funeral of US Senator Lindsey Graham.US President Donald Trump paid tribute to Graham at the service, describing the veteran politician as someone who "died doing the work he was born to do", and recalling their long friendship.Following the service, Stubb and Zelensky held bilateral talks.In a post on X, Zelensky said he and Stubb discussed diplomatic efforts to end Russia's war in Ukraine and added that he was grateful to the Finnish president for understanding Ukraine's needs.Stubb later met with several US senators, including Jeanne Shaheen, Jack Reed, Chris Coons, Jim Risch and Roger Wicker.He later said on X that their discussions focused on Ukraine, Russia, Nato and Iran.Later on Tuesday, Zelensky also met with President Trump.The Ukrainian leader characterised that meeting as positive, saying that he and Trump discussed production licences for Patriot air missile systems and other initiatives to strengthen Ukraine's defence capabilities. He also thanked the United States for its continued support.
