The Port of Thessaloniki has welcomed the M/V Anji Ansheng, one of the world’s largest car carriers, completing the successful unloading of 119 electric buses, the port authority said.The operation was carried out by the port’s conventional cargo terminal team, which handled the discharge safely and efficiently.The electric buses are destined for public transport networks in Thessaloniki as well as markets across Southeastern Europe.According to the Thessaloniki Port Authority, the call highlights the port’s strategic role as a gateway to Southeastern and Central Europe. It also supports the transition to cleaner transport while strengthening the port’s position as a regional hub for connectivity, economic resilience and sustainable development.
