Alanya’s signature lemonade blends lemon, peanut flavors
Alanya’s peanut-paired lemonade offers a taste of regional heritage.
In the sweltering summer heat of the tourism hotspot of Antalya’s bustling Alanya district, a distinct geographically registered peanut lemonade is making waves by pairing crisp, refreshing citrus notes with the rich aroma of roasted unsalted peanuts.
The drink is among the geographically registered products promoted under Alanya Municipality’s “Alanya Culinary Heritage” project. Its preparation was demonstrated at the Alanya Municipality Culinary Culture House.
Project promotion coordinator Chef Nur Macit said that geographical registration protects the unique characteristics of products while supporting local production. She noted that Alanya has six geographically registered products: avocado, carob, banana, loquat, “gülüklü” soup and peanut lemonade.
