The Kwara South Development Forum (KSDF) has accused the Ilorin Heritage Preservation Foundation (IHPF) of complicity in the insecurity plaguing Kwara South, following the group’s reported rejection of the Iru Ekun security network associated with Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
The forum stated that the IHPF remained silent while communities across Kwara South endured years of deadly terrorist attacks, kidnappings and killings.
The forum insisted that Sunday Igboho was invited solely by the people of Kwara South to support efforts aimed at tackling the worsening insecurity in the region and was never invited to Ilorin.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Convener of the forum, Obashola Ayomide Ridwan, through its Secretary, Olasehinde O. Oluwatoba, the organisation said those opposing the invitation failed to speak out when residents of Kwara South were being massacred, kidnapped and forced to abandon their ancestral homes.
