The Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday remained silent on its compliance with the House of Representatives’ directive to produce the self-proclaimed Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, Adeyemi Adeniyi, before an investigative committee, as the deadline expires today.
Multiple calls and text messages sent to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Anietie Iniedu, were not responded to as of the time of filing this report.
The House committee investigating the activities of the alleged PFIPC had, during its sitting on Monday, directed the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to produce Adeyemi before the panel by noon on Wednesday.
The committee is probing how the PFIPC, despite not being established by law, allegedly secured office accommodation in Phase III of the Federal Secretariat Complex in Abuja and received a budgetary allocation of N1.32bn in the 2026 Appropriation Act.
Chairman of the committee, Yusuf Gagdi, said Adeyemi’s appearance had become necessary because of the gravity of the allegations and the institutions involved.
