A lawyer representing Andrew Tate has revealed that he jots down messages from the social media influencer when they meet at jail and then posts them online23:07, 28 Jul 2026Updated 23:07, 28 Jul 2026Andrew Tate's lawyer has told how the social media influencer posts messages online despite being in jail.It was revealed yesterday that he and his brother Tristan will remain in jail for at least two more weeks until their next hearing as they fight extradition to the United Kingdom - where the brothers are accused of multiple counts of rape and sex trafficking, a federal judge said.US magistrate Lauren Louis set a detention hearing for August 13 to determine whether the pair should stay in jail or be released during what could be a months-long extradition process.The Tates were not in court on Monday or required to be there and have remained in jail since making a brief court appearance two days after their July 18 arrest.But it is now clear how Andrew Tate has been sending out messages while in solitary confinement as his lawyers jot down his opinions when they meet to discuss his case.“Look, we meet with Andrew every day, we see Andrew,” attorney Joseph McBride told the New York Post outside court.“I see Andrew four, five, six times a week. So we’re in there, we’re out of there, you know, it’s called the Pony Express. There’s a way to be like, ‘What would you like said to the world?’ It’s not very hard.”And McBride added: “Of course not, no”, when asked if Andrew Tate had access to a phone at FDC Miami. “If he had a phone in there, they’d probably give him the electric chair,” he joked.While the lawyer also responded to Andrew Tate's claim that his “neighbour” in the detention centre is a cannibal. “I don’t know his name, we just know him as Mr. Cannibal,” McBride told reporters.“He screams all night. He’s got deep issues. We don’t know if they’re emotional, if they’re demonic or what’s going on but, you know, if you’re a cannibal, you’ve got problems — objectively.”On July 23, Tate’s X account posted, “I am being held in [the special housing unit], the highest level of security which exists. No commissary. No visits. No contact with the outside world. My neighbour is a cannibal who screams throughout the night.”Meanwhile, lawyers for the brothers said yesterday that they want the US government to turn over documents that UK officials submitted to secure their arrest in the States.Content cannot be displayed without consent“They don’t have anything but the accusations,” attorney Joseph McBride said after the hearing. “It’s just their word against our word right now.”The UK has until mid-September to turn over all of its materials to the State Department, US attorney Alejandra Lopez said in court. The brothers have long claimed that their violent and misogynistic statements have been taken out of context or were intended as jokes.Jackie Perczek, another one of their lawyers, said the Tates have shown they are not a flight risk by returning to Romania every month after they were accused there of luring women for sexual exploitation.“For three years they have not fled,” she said. “They’ve travelled the world and every month they return to Romania.”The former professional kickboxers, who have dual US and UK citizenship, have millions of social media followers and are vocal supporters of Donald Trump. The White House has said the brothers shouldn’t expect any help from the president.McBride said shortly after the Tates were arrested that “they’ve never done nothing wrong. They shouldn’t be extradited for crimes they did not commit,” he said. McBride said the extradition attempt was politically motivated, though he provided no details.Article continues belowProsecutors in Britain said the new charges relate to four new accusers and were brought after authorities received evidence from police in Bedfordshire. The allegations, which span from 2010 to 2017, include rape, assault, trafficking and offences relating to “indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.”The brothers are already charged with rape, bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain relating to three other accusers in the UK between 2012 and 2015.The brothers moved to Romania in 2016 and were arrested there in 2022, accused of participating in schemes to lure women for sexual exploitation. They denied those allegations, and the Romanian case hasn’t gone forward because of legal and procedural problems.
