Love Island fans aren't buying the latest results after the voting numbers for the recent final were released by bosses21:25, 28 Jul 2026Updated 21:25, 28 Jul 2026Love Island is still throwing up surprises a day after announcing the latest winning couple. And that's because the voting percentages or this year's final have been revealed. While Lorenzo Alessi and Julia Majchrzak ran out victorious, beating out competition from Kavan Murphy and Jasmine Muller, the end result was much more clear cut than some people first predicted. As expected, Julia and Lorenzo came out victorious, sharing the £50k prize pot. But what was expected to be a closer call by some didn't end up that way. The couple bagged 46.9% of the votes, with second-placed Kavan and Jasmine securing 27.1% of the votes.Third placed Angelista Gunda and Simba Kudyiwa narrowly missed out on the runners-up spot after receiving 26% of the votes. But despite the official reveal, some were far from convinced. One user on Instagram said: "I actually dont believe this but ok." Another added: "How is this even possible? They were barely a couple. Lorenzo didnt even want a gf! This isn’t friend island! So weird!"The winners looked stunned when their names were called by Maya Jama. But despite loud cheers from the crowd, not all fans online were impressed. One user on X fumed: "Such an awful love island uk finale. love island usa may have had awful production, people, and couples too but they went off with the final dates & the audience went off with crowning brinity the winners #loveislanduk #loveisland."Since Julia and Lorenzo's win, some fans have voiced their doubts about Julia and Lorenzo's relationship. But Lorenzo has quickly hit back at those comments. While he admits he understands where they're coming from, as he and Julia have not been as quick to go through milestones on TV, he claims that pressure would have "ruined things" for him.Going into the final, there were four couples who could have taken the crown. Yasmin Hadlow and Tommy Stagg however were booted from the villa following one final twist. On Sunday night, after Mica Harris and Samraj Toor were axed by their series' dumped Islanders, it was revealed that the pair would be allowed to pick another couple to leave with them. While it remains to be seen what the future holds for the recent batch of Love Island stars, it's expected Lorenzo will return to his old life in some way. He is a fashion entrepreneur from Hertfordshire and co-established a luxury Mediterranean-influenced menswear brand called Palmera in December 2024.He hails from a family with some serious celebrity connections that left viewers stunned during the show's 'Friends and Family' visit. His father, Oz, is a former high-profile celebrity bodyguard and works as a doorman at the famous celebrity haunt Sheesh, the renowned restaurant located in Chigwell, Essex.Through his dad, Lorenzo has links to some enormous names in the spotlight; Oz has worked alongside Zayn Malik, Danny Dyer, former islander Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, and also trains MMA fighters.Article continues belowLike this story?
