RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held separate telephone calls on Tuesday with his counterparts from Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain to discuss regional developments and efforts to de-escalate tensions.
During the calls, the ministers reaffirmed the importance of protecting freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab El-Mandab Strait and stressed the need to mitigate the security and economic repercussions of the ongoing regional crisis, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The ministers also condemned attacks carried out by Iran and Iran-backed militias in Iraq and Yemen, expressing full solidarity in confronting threats to the security and stability of countries across the region.
They rejected actions that undermine regional peace and emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation among Gulf states to strengthen joint Gulf cooperation and support regional security and stability.
