An anonymous X account that frequently posts anti-Black and anti-Muslim messages collects checks from Kalshi, the prediction market operator valued at more than $20 billion.
The user, who goes by Wall Street Mav and has 1.7 million followers, wrote Saturday that former ESPN analyst Ryan Clark, who is Black, acts like a “chimp.” A day later, the Kalshi-sponsored account appeared to pine for a cast of Miss Germany pageant finalists made solely of white people.
Between such posts, Wall Street Mav promotes Kalshi betting odds.
Top prediction market platforms like Kalshi are going all-out to maintain market share, and that has sometimes meant funding social media profiles with significant followings but also significant baggage.
Wall Street Mav has made dozens of pro-Kalshi posts over the past year without advertising disclosures—a breach of X rules if the account was paid for those posts, something Kalshi did not respond to in a request for comment. Wall Street Mav only began tagging its Kalshi posts with X’s “paid partnership” label after a Sportico reporter asked last week whether it was affiliated with Kalshi.
