The Western Cape branch of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) organised a Thought Leadership Seminar, which took place at the Khayelitsha Training Centre on Tuesday.
The goal of this initiative was to inspire citizens to make educated and analytical choices during elections.
The distinguished guest speakers featured at the event were Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, founder of the Gift of the Givers Foundation, and Professor Bheki. R. Mngomezulu, who serves as a professor of political science and international relations and is the CANRAD Director at Nelson Mandela University.
In his opening remarks, Sooliman emphasised that voting is a privilege, contrasting it with the apartheid era when many citizens were denied this fundamental right.
