Samsung reportedly increased Galaxy Z Fold 8 production prior to launch, but it appears the smaller foldable model is still selling much faster during pre-order than the company anticipated. It already looks like certain models are getting delayed due to low stock.
Samsung seemingly expected to sell more of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 than the larger and more expensive Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. A report earlier this month suggested the company set aside 2.8 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, where the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra only tallied 2 million units.
Even with a larger supply, Samsung is reportedly running low on Galaxy Z Fold 8 stock during the pre-order period. A leak courtesy of Lanzuk on Naver claims sales for the shorter foldable are exceeding Samsung’s estimates. Unit allocation is becoming an issue, and there’s a danger of it going out of stock soon in some regions, like South Korea, according to a separate post by @IceUniverse on Twitter/X.
Just today, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in its web-exclusive color, “Pistachio”, seemed to be available to pre-order again after it was temporarily blocked by Samsung’s website. The phone no longer errors out in the checkout cart, but it’s now delayed until October.
