Only three African countries joined the U.S., Canada and Australia on the UK's student visa financial proof exemption list—Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa and Kenya still missing

Botswana, Mauritius, and Tunisia are still the only three African nations exempted from submitting upfront financial evidence under UK student visa regulations.

Placed on the UK Visas and Immigration differential evidence list alongside countries like Canada, Australia, and the US, candidates from these three countries do not need to upload bank statements initially.

However, visa officers maintain the right to conduct spot checks and request financial documentation at any stage of processing.

In contrast, international students from Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt and the vast majority of non-exempt African countries must continue to prove they hold sufficient funds prior to visa approval.

Under standard UK Visas and Immigration policy, applicants must demonstrate that tuition and living expenses have been continuously maintained in an eligible personal account, official educational loan, or approved corporate sponsorship for at least 28 consecutive days.
