The Nigeria Police Force has announced the deaths of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police Adeleke Taiwo Olatunde and Commissioner of Police Hassan Saleh Gwani.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the Force described both officers as dedicated personnel who served the Force with professionalism and commitment.
According to the statement, Olatunde died at his residence in Lagos on July 23, while Gwani passed away on July 19 at the Saudi German Hospital in Cairo, Egypt, where he had been receiving treatment after a brief illness.
The Inspector-General of Police and the leadership of the Force extended condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the deceased officers.
“The leadership of the Force conveys its deepest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the departed officers, commending their selfless service and honour to the nation,” the statement read.
