BMW introduced the new iX5 Long Wheelbase in China with a CLTC driving range of over 620 miles (1,000 km) and plenty of digital screens.

BMW iX5 LWB set to launch in 2027

Following the iX3, the iX5 is next in line to receive a Long Wheelbase (LWB) variant. BMW introduced the new X5 and iX5 LWB as standalone models built exclusively for China.

The biggest difference from the standard X5, obviously, is the extended wheelbase at 3,165 mm, or 130 mm longer than the version BMW sells in the US, Europe, and other global markets.

Up front, the LWB variant features exclusive “striking diagonal light icons,” while buyers can still opt for BMW’s new double-X design for the iX5 sold elsewhere. Additional light strips are also added between the lights and the illuminated Kidney Iconic Glow grille.
