Reggae artiste Tasha T is preparing to deliver a complete musical experience with the release of One World, an ambitious two-part album project that celebrates her versatility as both a powerful vocalist and a commanding conscious deejay. Presented by RasVibe Records Inc. in collaboration with Islandyard Productions and distributed by VPAL Music, One World will unfold across two distinct full-length chapters. One World: Chapter 1 is scheduled for release on August 14, followed by One World: Chapter 2 on September 4. While both chapters distinctly carry Tasha T’s commitment to purposeful reggae music, each offers listeners a different expression of her artistry. Chapter 1 places the spotlight on Tasha T’s melodic side, blending soulful vocals with uplifting messages centred on unity, joy, resilience and the strength of community. The project is led by the single Ten Foot Wall, a stirring declaration of perseverance and the determination to rise above life’s obstacles. “ One World represents the different ways I use music to connect with people,” said Tasha T. “There are moments when the message calls for melody, and there are moments when it must be delivered with greater urgency. These two chapters allowed me to honour both sides of who I am as an artiste while reminding listeners that, despite our differences, we are still one people living in one world.” Grounded in reggae’s traditional deejay style, the second chapter features rhythmic lyrical delivery, direct social commentary and thought-provoking messages addressing some of the realities confronting society today. With its percussive flows and uncompromising lyrical approach, Chapter 2 positions Tasha T as both an entertainer and a cultural messenger. The project encourages greater awareness while challenging listeners to examine the world around them and consider their individual role in creating change. Together, the two chapters form a multidimensional body of work that reflects Tasha T’s evolution as a global reggae artiste. By releasing the albums separately, she is allowing audiences to fully absorb the emotion and uplifting spirit of the first chapter before encountering the socially charged messages of the second. Based in Canada, Tasha T’s musical journey began with a Best Female Newcomer in 1999 and, since then, she has been honoured with commendations, numerous nominations, and awards. Her most recent accolade, received in 2024, is the Spotlight Award for her popular single Jamaica It Nice from the 8th Annual ReggaeXclusive Recognition Award in Toronto, Canada. In recognition of her humanitarian efforts, Tasha T was selected as the award recipient, for ‘Compete for Peace and Not War’ competition, by The World Citizen Artists, Bob Marley Foundation, Ghandi Foundation, and Belgravia Gallery, for her inspirational composition Spread Some Love. She has also made history as the first-ever reggae artiste to be nominated for Best International Indigenous Release at the Indigenous Music Awards and invited to perform at their show in Winnipeg, Canada. Tasha T is a two-time Juno Awards nominee for Best Reggae Recording for her Real Talk album and her single, Dem Need More Love.
