No confirmation yet on Padilla chief of staff’s reported resignation

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Robin Padilla on Monday did not directly address reports that his chief of staff, lawyer Rudolf Philip Jurado, had resigned, saying instead that the latter has been dealing with health issues.

There has been no confirmation of Jurado’s reported resignation. The INQUIRER has reached out to him for comment but has yet to receive a response.

Asked on Monday, July 27, about reports that Jurado resigned after allegedly taking issue with being bypassed by other members of Padilla’s staff, the senator said Jurado “has been sick for a long time” and told reporters they could check the records.
