EastEnders latest episode has seen original character Ian Beale head to prison and the BBC soap have revealed advanced images of tomorrow's episode, in which Chelsea faces a brutal attack20:01, 27 Jul 2026Updated 20:20, 27 Jul 2026EastEnders ended on a severe note tonight, as original character Ian Beale has been sentenced to eight months in prison - but images of tomorrow's episode show that the drama has only just begun.‌Ian, played by Adam Woodyatt since 1985, was sent to prison after he ran over four-year-old Jordan Fox whilst over the limit. Though he had only had one drink, he still failed a breathalyser test. Having put Jordan in a wheelchair, he pleaded guilty to a dangerous driving charge.‌Jordan's mum Chelsea was initially resistant to helping Ian, but after admitting that she had yelled at Jordan, making him run out into the road, she called Ian to let him know that she would make a statement to the judge so that he wouldn't have to go to prison.‌Sadly, Chelsea did not arrive on time. The judge, who felt Ian should have been more cautious given he was a local councillor, sentenced him to eight months in prison.Following the episode, the BBC released several images of tomorrow night's episode, in which Ian's mum Kathy reacts violently when Chelsea eventually shows up.‌In one image, Ian can be seen being handcuffed by police officers as he was taken away to prison. In others, Chelsea can be seen arriving to court, where an angry Kathy had to be held back by her boyfriend Harvey.Kathy breaks free of Harvey and slaps Chelsea across the face, causing the woman to cry out in pain. An unapologetic Kathy is then pictured continuing to shout at Chelsea as she cradles her face.‌Zaraah Abrahams, who plays Chelsea, spoke previously about what her character was thinking and how the rest of her family, particularly mum Denise, will react.She said: “Chelsea has been overwhelmed since the accident. She believes she played a part in what happened for shouting at Jordan and not keeping an eye on him and has struggled with her decision to stay silent."‌Adding that Chelsea had been struggling with Denise's cancer diagnosis: "“While coping with Denise’s diagnosis and focusing on Jordan’s recovery, she’s been torn between supporting her son and facing the truth, knowing Ian has carried all of the blame.”She also addressed Chelsea's eventual realisation that she should help Ian: “She sees a chance to put things right and potentially help Ian. Chelsea’s own guilt has been building for a long time.Article continues below“Conversations with her family only strengthen her feeling that she can’t keep the secret any longer,” Zaraah added.
