According to investigators, the municipality paid a service provider in full for the delivery of 18 municipal vehicles, including UD trucks and bakkies.

A 42-year-old former Fleet Manager of the Emfuleni Local Municipality was arrested on charges of fraud and corruption last week.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates’ Court on July 20, to face corruption and fraud charges.

The matter was postponed to July 29, for formal bail application judgement. The accused remains in custody.

He was arrested by the Gauteng Political Killings Task Team (PKTT).
