The Kano State Police Command has rescued 10 passengers following an attack by suspected bandits along the Jos-Kano highway.

The command disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday by its Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna.

According to the statement, five suspected armed bandits, armed with machetes and a firearm, blocked the highway, attacked a commercial vehicle and abducted 13 of the 20 passengers on board.

“On 26th July, 2026, at about 1730hrs, the Divisional Police Officer, Doguwa Division, received a distress call that a Toyota Hiace bus with Registration No. BKK 6824 XA, travelling from Jos to Kano, was attacked by armed men at the Falgore Forest axis in Doguwa Local Government Area, between Gate Two Safer Highway and Dogo Dutse.
