RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a series of calls with counterparts from the UK, Qatar and Kuwait on Monday to discuss regional developments and efforts to strengthen security and stability.
During a call with the UK’s Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, Prince Faisal congratulated him on assuming office and expressed his hope for closer cooperation to further strengthen relations between the two countries, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Miliband thanked the Saudi foreign minister and reaffirmed Britain’s commitment to developing Saudi-British ties. He also reiterated the UK’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and condemned recent attacks by Iranian-backed militias in Yemen against the Kingdom and other countries in the region.
The two ministers also reviewed relations, regional developments and ways to enhance joint efforts to support regional and international security and stability.
Prince Faisal also received separate calls from Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, SPA added.
