Twelve-year-old Johaine Hendricks from Eerste River, who was diagnosed with bone cancer a few months ago, is hoping to get back onto the soccer field and achieve his dreams once his family is able to raise enough money for a prosthetic leg.
A Grade 7 learner, Hendricks is currently unable to attend school because he is undergoing chemotherapy.
In July last year, he found a small lump just above his ankle after playing a soccer match.
After a brief visit to the doctor, it was first believed to be a cyst.
