The escalating friction between the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and the Judiciary has reached an unprecedented impasse. The recent nationwide court boycotts and targeted blacklisting of specific judicial officers have effectively brought the machinery of justice to a grinding halt. In this intense war of attrition, we must remember the timeless African proverb: when two bulls fight, it is the grass that suffers. The ''grass'' in this scenario is the ordinary Kenyan citizen—the litigant who knocks on the doors of our courts seeking justice, only to find a house divided against itself.
