Hamid-Reza Haji-Babai, Vice Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Iranian Parliament), issued a stern warning to Ukraine on Monday, July 27, 2026, during his pre-agenda address at a parliamentary session held via webinar. He stated that any “mischief” in the region or the Caspian Sea would be met with a “regrettable response from the great Iranian nation.”
According to the state news agency IRNA, Haji-Babai directly addressed what he termed “Ukraine’s contractors,” declaring: “We warn Ukraine’s contractors that any mischief carried out by your proxy in the region and the Caspian Sea will draw a regrettable response from the great nation of Iran.”
In another part of his speech, referring to “Hezbollah’s pledge of allegiance” to Mojtaba Khamenei, Haji-Babai described him as the “Leader of the World’s Muslims and Commander of the Resistance.” He claimed that this pledge of allegiance has had “profound impacts” on both the regional and international stages, bolstering the strength of the “Islamic Ummah and the Axis of Resistance.”
Quoting Mojtaba Khamenei, the Vice Speaker added: “Today, as the nations of the world grow weary of the oppression and tyranny of the U.S. government and criminal Zionists, no path remains but jihad and resistance; perseverance on this path will yield the promised divine victory for those fighting for truth.”
