Since the beginning of July, more than 170 civilians have been killed and 1,028 injured in Russian aerial attacks across Ukraine, while the escalation of hostilities is increasingly threatening global food security.
The figures were presented on Monday by Kayoko Gotoh, head of the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, during a meeting of the UN Security Council, Ukrinform's correspondent reports.
According to Gotoh, Russian strikes have hit residential buildings, playgrounds, gas stations, markets, and logistics warehouses, while Kyiv has remained under constant attack.
Overall, at least 56 civilians have been killed and 232 injured in Kyiv during July.
Gotoh also highlighted the daily use of guided aerial bombs against frontline communities in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
