U.S. stocks were higher, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 400 points on Monday.
Shares of Baker Hughes Co (NASDAQ:BKR) rose sharply after the company reported better-than-expected second-quarter financial results.
Also, it received a technology order from Venture Global for its CP2 LNG project expansion.
Baker Hughes reported quarterly earnings of 64 cents per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of 500 cents per share.
The company reported quarterly sales of $6.742 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $6.523 billion.
