MLC Bhumireddy Rama Gopal Reddy on Monday accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of spreading misinformation about the Mega DSC recruitment process and said the government would not remain a mute spectator to attempts to mislead unemployed youth.Addressing a press conference at the TDP central office, Mr. Rama Gopal Reddy alleged that the YSRCP was creating an unnecessary controversy as it could not accept the growing public support for Education Minister Nara Lokesh’s reforms in the education sector. He said the government had filled 16,347 teacher posts through the Mega DSC recruitment process in a transparent manner and that details of more than 16,000 selected candidates were available in the public domain.Rejecting the YSRCP’s allegations over appointments under the sports quota, Mr. Rama Gopal Reddy alleged that the previous YSRCP government had committed large-scale irregularities in Secretariat recruitments. He claimed that hundreds of appointments were made on the basis of sports certificates issued between 2000 and 2012 without proper dates, months or supporting records. He further alleged that during the Group-I recruitment process under the previous government, answer scripts were evaluated by drivers and private individuals, affecting the prospects of 163 candidates.Mr. Rama Gopal Reddy said the government had received about 33,000 grievances relating to the Mega DSC recruitment and that each representation had been examined and resolved through field-level officials. Every candidate, he said, had received a written response explaining the decision taken in his or her case.He also claimed that advocates appearing for the YSRCP had apologised to the High Court for failing to substantiate the party’s allegations regarding the teacher recruitment process.
