Shiba Inu pulled off something unusual this weekend: a 40% rally that might not immediately collapse on itself. SHIB hit an intraday peak of $0.00000582 on July 26, pushing its market cap to roughly $3.12 billion and adding about $1 billion in a single day.
The reason this particular spike is worth paying attention to, rather than filing under “meme coin does meme coin things,” comes down to what drove it. Spot inflows, not leverage.
The numbers behind the move
According to CoinGlass data, positive net spot inflows topped $5 million on Saturday. That’s the largest single-day figure in more than nine months.
Trading volume surged to $717 million, an increase of up to 1,245% from prior levels.
