Israel’s Security Cabinet has approved the deployment of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) to the Gaza Strip as part of US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan, according to Israeli media reports on Sunday.
According to the Hebrew-language newspaper Israel Hayom, the cabinet approved the deployment of a multinational force affiliated with the Peace Council to Gaza.
The newspaper reported that National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir voted against the decision, arguing that Hamas had not fulfilled what he described as its commitment to disarm.
According to Yedioth Ahronoth, Ben-Gvir told the cabinet that “Hamas has not fulfilled its commitment to disarm the Gaza Strip, and therefore we are not obligated to do so either.”
The newspaper also reported that Ben-Gvir reiterated his support for encouraging the emigration of Gaza’s residents.
