The Gauteng Department of Education has announced the 2027 Grade 1 and Grade 8 online admissions process, urging parents and legal guardians to prepare documents and apply correctly.
Parents and legal guardians seeking placement for children entering Grade 1 and Grade 8 at Gauteng public schools will be able to submit online applications for the 2027 academic year from Wednesday, August 5.
The Gauteng Department of Education has urged families to apply early and submit all required supporting documents to avoid delays during the admissions process.
Announcing the opening of the admissions cycle on Monday, Gauteng MEC for Education, Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Lebogang Maile said applications would open at 8 am on August 5 and close at midnight on Friday, September 4.
He said all applications for learners entering Grade 1 and Grade 8 at Gauteng public schools must be submitted exclusively through the Gauteng Online Admissions System, with no new applications accepted after the closing date.
