The search for better event management did not begin in this decade. As entertainment becomes increasingly global and audiences become more connected, organisers are constantly looking for better ways to reach people, sell tickets, and create memorable experiences.
The ticketing industry has evolved far beyond simply issuing digital passes to people. As event managers grow more aware of how high they can jump and how deep they can cast their nets to gain their reach, ticketing platforms also keep finding unique ways to increase these possibilities in their own unique way, giving event managers a deeper pond to fish in.
Across Nigeria and globally, platforms have continued to introduce new tools aimed at helping organisers increase ticket sales and streamline operations, each approaching the challenge differently.
Some innovations have been built around local audience behaviour. According to the Tikkets team, Jetron Tickets’ introduction of group ticketing reflected the tendency of Nigerians to attend events with friends and communities. The feature reportedly helped increase ticket sales on the platform from ₦60 million in 2023 to ₦250 million in 2024, the following year, demonstrating how products tailored to local behaviour can unlock growth for organisers. Another uniqueness to Jetron’s approach is that it expands to events in different cities outside the popular, ‘entertainment hub’ cities, like Abuja and Lagos, supporting events across multiple cities like Kaduna, Plateau and Rivers.
