Police investigate the aftermath of a violent shooting that left four dead in Kayamandi, Stellenbosch.
Four people were killed and four others, including two police officers, were injured in a mass shooting in Kayamandi, Stellenbosch, on Sunday night.
Western Cape police said detectives attached to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit are investigating four counts of murder and four cousins of attempted murder following the violence.
According to police, officers from Stellenbosch SAPS responded to reports of a shooting in 7th Avenue at about 5:35pm, where they found an unidentified man who had been shot dead.
While members were attending to the scene , they heard more gunfire nearby and moved to investigate. As they approached, they were confronted by armed suspects who allegedly opened fire on them.
