However, Gethin has bagged himself a new job for the summer.‌Gethin announced he will be the Chef de Mission for the Welsh team as they take part in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The presenter has been preparing for this role for over a year.‌He undertook a Master’s degree in Sports Directorship last year alongside his presenting. His job will be to lead the team operations, logistics and also media relations too, as well as making sure the team are doing well and morale is high."I can’t even tell you what an honour and privilege it is to be leading the team, as Chef de Mission, here in Glasgow," he said of his new job for the summer, "It’s been amazing, the last 12 to 18 months, with all the team, behind the team, just making sure all the prep, the logistics, are done. To make our athletes have the best opportunity to succeed over the next few weeks here in Glasgow."‌Gethin wrapped up on Morning Live a couple of weeks back and posted on social media to thank fans for their support."Thank you for watching @bbcmorninglive! There’s not a day goes by where I’m not amazed by the level of interaction. The questions, comments, requests for content, messages of support, suggestions to raise awareness to help with life’s challenges," he wrote."It’s a real pleasure to work with the team in the pic. Kind humans who are also extremely talented. Live telly is not easy! So as we sign off for the summer… and I put my sports hat on for @glasgow_2026, I think of a phrase I’ve heard a lot recently amongst the athletes competing for @team_wales. 'Pressure is a privilege.'"‌It comes after Gethin was reminded of the BBC's editorial guidelines after he broke broadcasting rules while on air.Gethin is a longstanding ambassador for the Welsh heritage jewellery brand Clogau and has appeared in numerous promotional campaigns for the company. However, Gethin has also been seen wearing various timepieces from Clogau while hosting Morning Live which means he is in breach of BBC guidelines.It says that presenters "must not appear on-air wearing clothing or using products or services which they have been contracted to promote".
