BBC's Morning Live will not be on screens for several weeks, with the hosts confirming the news on Friday10:16, 10 Jul 2026Updated 10:17, 10 Jul 2026Fans of Morning Live will be disappointed to learn that the programme is taking a break.‌Presenters Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones were back in the BBC studio on Friday (July 10) to update audiences with the latest news from across the nation.‌They were joined by gardening expert Mark Lane, Rip Off Britain's Louise Minchin, Dr Punam Krishan, and lawyer Gary Rycroft. Strictly Come Dancing favourite Greg Rutherford also made an appearance for the Strictly Fitness slot.‌At the beginning of the live broadcast, Gethin revealed that Morning Live would be taking a break, and wouldn't return for some time throughout the summer months.Joking about not being seated at the desk alongside his co-stars, Greg said: "What's this all about? It's the last show and I've been kicked out," reports Wales Online.‌Gethin then announced: "Speaking of the summer holidays, we're gonna have a little break after today."It's not yet known when Morning Live will be back on air, but from next week, the slot will be filled by fresh episodes of Animal Park, which will air straight after BBC Breakfast from 9.30am until 10.15am. The documentary programme is also scheduled to air from the following Monday (July 20) as well.Kate Humble and Ben Fogle will mark 25 years of Animal Park next week, looking back at unforgettable animal tales and their lasting bond.‌Fresh obstacles include bringing together hippo families, keeping tabs on cheeky meerkats and a touching anniversary surprise from the keepers, building up to an emotional tribute at Longleat Safari Park.Throughout the week, Kate and Ben will also see maned wolves arrive at the park for the first time, while tensions mount within the pride following the loss of lioness Malaika last year.‌News of Morning Live's break follows the programme being interrupted this week for some "sad" death news.Thursday's (July 9) live broadcast was briefly paused during Dr Ranj Singh's health segment, as Gethin Jones announced the death of Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler.Gethin said: "Ranj, we'll come back to you in just a second to talk about insect bites. Just hearing some breaking news this morning. Singer Bonnie Tyler, known for hits including Total Eclipse of the Heart, has died at the age of 75."Article continues belowThe presenter then read out a statement from Bonnie's website, which read: "Bonnie's family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for."The statement continued: "We will issue a further statement shortly but for now ask for privacy to deal with this tragedy."Morning Live airs weekdays on BBC One at 9.30am
