Samoa's tourism industry continued its recovery in the second quarter of 2026, with visitor arrivals increasing nearly 7 per cent compared with the same period last year.
Figures released by the Samoa Bureau of Statistics show total international arrivals reached 64,181 during the quarter, up 2.7 per cent from the second quarter of 2025 and 18 per cent higher than the first quarter of 2026.
The increase was driven by stronger visitor numbers. Samoa welcomed 48,045 visitors during the quarter, a 6.9 per cent increase from the same period last year and 23.2 per cent higher than the previous quarter.
Visitors accounted for the majority of international arrivals, with 23,437 women and 22,677 men travelling to Samoa.
Outbound travel also increased, with total departures rising 2.6 per cent compared with the second quarter of 2025.
