Samoa recorded a strong increase in visitor arrivals in April 2026, with New Zealand and United States travellers helping lift overall numbers despite a sharp decline from Australia.
According to the latest International Arrival Statistics report released by the Samoa Bureau of Statistics (SBS), total visitors stood at 14,188 in April, an increase of 7.4 per cent compared with the same month last year.
Total international arrivals reached 19,086, up 1.2 per cent from April 2025 and 9.1 per cent higher than March 2026.
New Zealand remained Samoa’s biggest visitor market, accounting for 6,585 visitors, or 46.4 per cent of all visitors for the month.
Visitor numbers from New Zealand increased by 5.2 per cent, or 321 visitors, compared with April last year. The United States also recorded strong growth, with 1,456 visitors, making up 10.3 per cent of total visitors. This was an increase of 22 per cent, or 263 visitors, compared with April 2025.
