For a long time, the secondhand fashion market chased buyers. But now that resale has become a stigma-free way to buy and the marketplace is clogged with options, platforms such as eBay, Depop and the newly arrived Vinted are chasing sellers with stocked wardrobes ready to clear.
From earlier this month, UK-based Depop, which launched in Australia in 2019, no longer charges fees for sellers (it will pass on a 5 per cent “marketplace fee” to buyers).
