The Golden Leo, which was struck by Russian forces near Odesa on July 19, has sunk.

The Maritime Administration reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

As noted, the hull and superstructure of the vessel sustained significant damage as a result of the enemy attack. As a result, it lost its seaworthiness and sank.

There was no crew on board at the time of the sinking.

The Administration notes that the Golden Leo (IMO 9181833) was flying the flag of Guinea-Bissau and was carrying corn. The vessel was attacked while exiting the port of Chornomorsk via the maritime corridor. The International Maritime Organization and the shipowner have been informed of the incident.
