Experts in the real estate sector have expressed concerns that the ongoing Iran-US crisis has imposed high construction costs, project delays, and other challenges in the sector, noting that the impacts on imported materials directly affect costs for operators in the prime market.
These experts spoke during a recent webinar organised by the International Real Estate Federation-Nigeria in partnership with Fortren & Company.
The webinar, which was themed ‘Impact of Middle East Crisis on Africa’s Real Estate and Construction Sector’, was moderated by Martin Uche, a Research Director at Fortren & Company, according to a recent statement obtained by The PUNCH.
Leading the discussion during the webinar, the Chairman of Estate Links Limited and Principal Partner at Gbenga Olaniyan & Associates, Mr Gbenga Olaniyan, observed that the period from 2022 to 2025 was the most unexpected time in terms of price fluctuations in the construction and real estate sector.
Olaniyan added that what has happened from 2025 to date could be attributed to panic.
