Edin Dzeko, the 40-year-old Bosnian striker, has agreed to a one-year contract extension with Schalke 04, keeping him at the German club until June 2027. The deal is reportedly worth between €900,000 and €1.5 million annually including bonuses.

Dzeko originally joined Schalke on a short-term contract in January 2026, arriving as a free agent after departing AS Roma. He scored six goals in 11 appearances, helping propel the club back to Germany’s top flight.
Negotiations over an extension reportedly began around March 2026 and continued through June, with the club viewing Dzeko as a critical piece for their Bundesliga return campaign. Reports indicate Dzeko delayed his final decision until after fulfilling international commitments with Bosnia-Herzegovina.
