Berlin’s annual Christopher Street Day Pride parade was cancelled after a white car drove into crowds, killing one and leaving several others with life-threatening injuries.
An intensive manhunt is underway, with police searching for a suspect they identified as 21-year-old Abdul B.
Locals and attendees were asked to avoid Tiergarten park, close to Brandenburg Gate, while emergency services treated those at the scene.
German media reported Chancellor Friedrich Merz condemned the “horrific act” and was being “kept constantly informed” about developments.
