The military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent in Dnipro who activated over 1,000 Starlink systems for the enemy.
According to Ukrinform, the SSU reported this on Facebook.
“The Security Service’s military counterintelligence unit detained a Russian agent in Dnipro who, on the enemy’s orders, organized a large-scale scheme for the illegal verification of Starlink systems,” the statement reads.
During the investigation, it was established that the man, a native of the Luhansk region, came to the attention of Russian intelligence officers through Telegram channels advertising easy money.
According to the security service, in exchange for money, the perpetrator used credentials provided by a handler in Russia and initially registered a Starlink station in his own name. Subsequently, the agent was instructed to recruit as many people as possible to participate in the clandestine verification of satellite equipment. He decided to activate Starlink systems at postal service branches using the personal information of fictitious persons.
