New Delhi: A 40-year-old labourer was killed, and two others sustained minor injuries after a portion of an old building collapsed during demolition work in outernorth Delhi's Swaroop Nagar on Saturday, police said.Police said a PCR call was received at 3.17 pm reporting the incident during demolition of an old structure.A police team rushed to the spot along with rescue agencies, including the fire brigade, and launched a rescue operation.Also Read: Nepal to retain controversial map on one-rupee coin featuring Uttarakhand's Lipulekh, Kalapani and LimpiyadhuraPolice said three labourers were trapped under the debris after a portion of the roof suddenly gave way during demolition and debris removal work.Fire department officers said that by the time they reached the spot, two labourers had already been pulled out from the rubble with minor injuries.Also Read: Relief distribution underway in Palghar for flood victims; Rs 32 lakh disbursed to kin of deceased"Rescue teams later extricated another worker from beneath the debris and rushed him to a hospital in a critical condition, where doctors declared him brought dead," a senior police officer said.The deceased was identified as a 40-year-old man. The two injured workers, aged 28 and 30 years, suffered minor injuries and are stated to be stable, police said.
