A boundary wall and an adjoining storage room collapsed during rainwater drain and sewage line construction work on Friday.

New Delhi: A 55-year-old labourer was killed and two others were injured after a boundary wall collapsed during sewage pipeline work in south central Delhi‘s Lodhi Colony in the early hours of Friday, the police said. The collapse occurred at 1.08 a.m. while excavation and pipe-laying work was under way. A boundary wall and an adjoining storage structure gave way, trapping three labourers under the debris. Police said a call about the incident was received at 1.18 a.m. Personnel from the Delhi Fire Services, the police and ambulance services rushed to the site and launched a rescue operation. Two workers were pulled out from the rubble, while the third was later extricated. He was identified as Devender. The injured workers are undergoing treatment. Published - June 06, 2026 01:15 am IST
