Smart family cards were issued to 1,069 persons during the event.Further, government welfare assistance amounting to a total of ₹11.55 lakh was provided to 106 beneficiaries.The assistances comprised of new family cards to 88 beneficiaries through the District Supply and Consumer Protection Department; natural death and compensation assistance of ₹2.3 lakh to seven beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Farmers Security Scheme through the Revenue and Disaster Management Department; women’s Self-Help Group revolving fund loan of ₹6.2 lakh to eight beneficiaries through the District Women’s Development Corporation; petrol scooters fitted with auxiliary wheels worth ₹3.05 lakh to three beneficiaries through the Welfare of the Differently Abled Persons Department.Following the event, Mr. Mathan Raja inaugurated an animal birth control center built at an estimated cost of ₹55 lakh on behalf of the municipality, and integrated rehabilitation service centre buildings at the taluk level built at an estimated cost of ₹35 lakh in Keelakarai, Mudukulathur, and R.S. Mangalam areas through the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons Department.Further, through the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons Department, taluk-level integrated rehabilitation service centre buildings built at a cost of ₹35 lakh in three areas—Keelakarai, Mudukulathur, and R.S. Mangalam—were inaugurated.Through this, he said, various rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, psychological counselling, and special education needed for differently abled persons are provided free of cost by departmental experts.“Additionally, these centres are designed in such a way that applying for UDID cards and guidance for obtaining various government welfare assistance are easily accessible in a single place,” he noted.District Collector M.
