Supporting the protest of students at Delhi and demanding to abolish the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), protest took place at various places in Salem district on Saturday (July 25, 2026).At the Communist Party of India’s (CPI) office near Salem Railway Station, cadre of the All India Youth Federation (AIYF) started their sit-in protest on Friday (July 24, 2026). The protest continued for the second day where more than 15 students participated. Likewise, at Dadagapatti, cadres of DYFI and SFI started their sit-in protest on Friday evening and continued on Saturday. In the protest, more than 30 members participated.On behalf of the Christhuva Sabaikal Pathukappau Sangam, a demonstration was held at Fort Maidan, Salem. More than 50 people participated in the demonstration, raised slogans against NEET and expressed their support for the students’ protest.Similarly, on behalf of Dravida Tamilar Katchi, the party members gathered at Salem Junction Railway Station to stage a rail roko. But the police prevented them from entering the railway station. Later. they raised slogans against the NEET at the entrance of the railway station and dispersed.In Krishnagiri district, cadres of CPI(M), DYFI and SFI staged a sit-in protest at Ramanaicken Lake at Hosur on Friday and continued their protest on Saturday, and more than 60 people participated.
