More than 500 people took part in the protest organised by the Dravidar Kazhagam (DK), demanding the scrapping of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), here on Saturday.The protest, held at Rajarathinam Stadium in Egmore, follows the recent cancellation of the examination by the National Testing Agency due to a paper leak in Rajasthan. This move impacted the lives of over 22 lakh candidates who had appeared for the exam.Speaking at the protest, president of the party K. Veeramani said that regularisation of universities fell under the State list and the Supreme Court had upheld it.VCK leader Thol. Thirumavalavan said the apprehensions raised in the past 10 years had come true. “NEET does not serve the welfare of the people, and hence, the Centre must withdraw it,” he said.
