Paris Saint-Germain has reached out to Manchester City about the availability of Rodri, the Spanish midfielder who has been central to City’s dominance in English and European football. The inquiry, reported in July 2026, is preliminary rather than a formal bid, but it immediately raises questions for anyone holding fan tokens tied to either club.
Rodri, now 30, joined City from Atletico Madrid back in 2019 for a then-record fee of £62.6 million. His contract runs through 2027, which gives City significant leverage in any negotiation, or in simply refusing to engage at all.
The interest from PSG makes sense on a footballing level. Coach Luis Enrique has a pre-existing relationship with Rodri from their time together in the Spanish national setup. Rodri captains Spain and is widely regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders on the planet.
