Jabulani Khumalo champions change at African Renaissance Unity launch in Durban

The founder of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP), Jabulani Khumalo, was among the guests at the launch of a new political party, African Renaissance Unity (ARU), in Durban on Saturday.

Khumalo said he was in attendance to support the leader of ARU, Siphephile Mahlaba, because they were together when the MKP was launched and throughout the process of getting the party into Parliament.

Khumalo said the legal battle to reclaim the MKP from former president Jacob Zuma is still on.

“People must come out and vote with Mahlaba. We are not saying they must leave our membership, but they can vote with him and elect African Renaissance Unity councillors, and then in 2029, we can be together,” he said.
