The Good Morning Britain star, 59, who tragically lost her husband, Derek Draper, 57, two years ago following a cardiac arrest after long Covid, has been dating Liam Halligan for three months.The couple, who are both journalists, have known each for years and looked happy in each other's company at a recent party, where they cuddled up in a sweet snap.Kate took Liam, 57, to her pal James' birthday, with a photo from the celebration being shared on X. The mum-of-two cut a stylish figure, sporting a white silk blouse and matching blazer while Liam also got the white memo wearing a smart shirt.The presenter's friend captioned the photo: "Happy birthday to my darling husband. We are celebrating on your birthday eve with our best friends . Love you." Making things 'social media-official', Kate re-shared the snap adding: "We love you James!"Economist Liam, who was a friend of Derek's, said the new couple have "much in common" despite being from "different parts of the media".Admitting there was a "definite spark" between them, he wrote in his Spectator column: "As a sandwich-board man of the business pages, I'm flabbergasted to be in the showbiz sections."Nobody wanted to know about my warnings of market meltdown but reporters now follow me around, asking: 'How's it going with Kate?'"Kate Garraway and I are from different parts of the media but have much in common – not least a shared sense of humour.
